Commissioned in Early 1961 the HRT, as it is known, is the Institute’s radio telescope. The HRT is housed in a remote outstation far up the barren, windswept slopes of majestic Mount McCaber.

Completely upgraded in 1970 the ITSHAL Supercomputer is used for advanced data processing, theoretical modelling, instrument control and the prediction of winning Lottery numbers.

The MMSSI operates a number of World Class scientific facilities all of which are paid for by taxes freely donated by hard-working taxpayers’ who, without this timely Government intervention, would only blow their limited dosh on frivolities like booze, fags, the ponies, food and rent.
In order to facilitate the vital scientific work of its small, but dedicated,staff, the MMSSI maintains a number of other world-class facilities vital to its research programmes.
